Shock from work
This year was going ok until 3/05/18 At my work and was told be a meeting for us all at 1pm. We all thought with Youngs CEO going to be talking to us to tell us company was doing ok and about wage rise. The managers where with him an hour before us workers. We all in the canteen and the shock was delivered to us workers. The CEO told us that Youngs are closing the factory down. We where all speechless. 450 of us workers going to be out of work.
3 months before that shock we where told the company is ok and our jobs are secure.
Last year when Youngs decided to build a new factory at there Grimsby head office. We said then they will close us down. As Youngs do that and done it to the factory at Fraserburgh Scotland. They streamed line it and closed it down. Some of the workers moved down to Annan to work at Youngs Pinneys. Youngs thats what they do join a company and then close them. Move the work to Grimsby. The CEO at the shocked meeting told us they are taking on 200 at Grimsby and 50 at seafoods in Annan. Thats not enough jobs as there is going to be more than 450 out of work shutting our work down.
After a week its sinking in and iam looking for work each day but around here in south west Scotland there is no work at all but a few jobs there will be 450 after them.
Youngs streamed line us begining last year and with there new factory getting built we new the day would come. They lost the ready made meals with Marks and Spencer as last year they where fined by M+S 6 times for products not right for them. So M+S took contract to another company.
So Youngs you kicked yourselfs in the backside. You streamed the lines to save costs and put time limits on the lines to make the product quicker. You said it was ok to do that but all along it was not as M+S fined you as there product not right.
There is one thing Youngs meant to made a profit last and building new factory aswell. But why do the cut backs on the factory Pinneys and staff. Then tell us its costs to much thats why you are closing the Pinneys factory. Youngs in the last few months have spent a lot of money on the Pinneys factory from new boiler to new windows in canteen. New computers on dispatch and a new dish washer for canteen.
Now i know businesses in the past what where going to close down never spent any money the factory 3 months before they closed. I dont know exact date when they decided to close pinneys down. But last year new factory getting built they must have known december 2017 they knew they close pinneys down. So why spend money on the factory then close it Youngs ?
To me that does not add up at all.
We had meetings this last week with MPs etc but they cant do anything either. Youngs are shutting us down and that will not change.
Youngs seafoods done it others in the past and now doing it to us. We all going to be out of work june unless we can find another job.
This has all happened and its sunk in me now. Iam on a mission now to find work and even move to get work as no work here south west Scotland.
Only bonus that week for me was my team Liverpool beating Man city.
I have had the itch in me feet the last few months and have been looking for work away from here. But i was only browsing the work away from here and other countries. Some of them i have applied for them this last week.

Flu Bug Got In Me
8 days ago i got a tickle in me throat never thought anything of it. But when bed time approached my throat didnt feel to good. Thought good sleep and up for work in morning i should be ok.
I was wrong i had no much sleep as like every 10mins to 20mins i started to cough. All through the night. Up at 4.30am got ready for work of i went. Yes sunday morning work and my throat not good at all. I carried on working until 10.30am and then headed home. I got home and something to eat and then hot bath then bed. I manage nearly 3 hours sleep without coughing. Did take some tablets to fight the bug what i caught. Sunday night arrived and sleep time but again right through to monday morning i coughed and coughed through the night. No sleep again. Went into work and tried to carry on the best i can. I was so cold when i was doing the running the lines at work.i was getting no better. I got to 1pm and i had no strength in me either and i said i have to go home iam not well.I got home tried to eat and a hot bath then bed. Tried sweating the bug out of me but it didnt work.
Yes the dreaded Flu bug was in me. Tuesday,wednesday went by without me noticing they had.
After hot baths and plenty of hot soups the dreaded flu bug still no shifted out of me.
Thursday arrived and me no better got an appointment to see Doc Went to see him and put me on Amoxicillin to help me to kill the Flu bug in me.
Yes they did work and it broke the infection on my chest down. That helped me to stop coughing. Friday night bed time arrived and i managed to get some sleep with out coughing.Yes the tablets really helping me get better. Great to have some sleep again and eat. Yes the bug is gone from me now and it feels great. just taking my time in building myself back up. Iam back to work monday morning. I lost a bit of weight with being grounded in bed and not eating much. Infact more soup i had with being ill. One bonus to me which i didnt expect my middle age fat around my waist has gone.
I have been trying for long enough to get rid of it but it wouldnt shift but now it has. With a way i dont recomend to use the dreaded Flu bug to lose weight.
Yes i was really ill this last i didnt watch Liverpools game in europe either. Yes the bug got in me but at last i kicked its ass out of me. My life back up and running again.

First post of 2018
January 2018 finishes this week. Yes first month of the year nearly gone already. As for me this first month been ok apart from a few blips and of course Liverpool getting beat last night in the F.A cup game at anfield. That was a blip i could do without. But win lose or draw i will always support Liverpool fc. But after watching the last so many games why does Jurgen Klopp keep playing certain ones who have never played good enough for the team but he includes them. Excuse me manager get your finger out and pick the right players in the Liverpool team. Not like what you done in the last so many games playing the wrong players.
As my work me back on 6 days a week at moment so my lazy sunday chill out days are put on hold.
Been getting back in to a wee bit exercising as iam a bit out of shape. With doing my work iam mainly setting line up and do the running on it. Keeping 12 people going with all the products as the line works. A wee while ago my leg work and arm work ok but not enough and of course my belly fat getting more. Thats why i decided to use my toys and do sit ups here at home.Before work and after work. Now and then i use my bike aswell. As i do my exercise here at home.
Weather getting bad here tonight with strong winds. Even my cats will not go out in it. So i need to switch of totally to get some sleep tonight as the strong wind blows by me house.
Now to watch still open all hours for the next hour and have a good laugh.
